The weather is nice outside, and you’re stuck inside? No, that seems like a bad idea. So go out your back door, look at the mess that you’ve been having to avoid up until now, and deal with it. Why? Well I have your reasons why.
It’s just time. Admit it to yourself. The sun is going to be out, hopefully, for the next 3 months and you need to get as much vitamin D as you can. I mean I am as fair skinned as they come, and even I enjoy getting some sun now and again. You can ride away the other 9 months out of the year. However, please don’t.
Think about all of those fun things you can do this summer. Plant and grow some vegetables, drink cocktails with ice in them, or even lay around in the hammock. These are all wonderful things that you can do outside, once you fix the space up a bit.
It feels good
Seeing a backyard that is just a big ol’ mess is so disheartening. It’s like that junk drawer in your kitchen that makes you angry every time you open in. Walking out your back door and seeing such disarray only makes you anxious. You’ve been putting it off long enough. Do something about it, and be proud of what you did. Even simply organizing and cleaning up the yard will make you feel better.
The reason why it feels good is because we like being surrounded by tiny and beautiful things. Don’t you want to feel good?
Having family and friends over for barbecues is a staple in this country. It’s just plain fun. Imagine all of the drink recipes, or outdoor games you can start searching for on Pinterest. If you love entertaining, then outdoor entertaining is the best kind. You have a whole mess of options at your fingertips.
Think about how you can create an environment that works for the needs of you and your family. Start with the basic, and then slowly add in the items that will make it your own personal oasis. You can get fun lights for having parties at night, or shade for your day long festivities. When it comes to entertaining outdoors, the options are endless.
To Be Alone
With 2 kids and a husband, sitting in the back yard alone is a rarity. However it feels so good when it does happen. There is something about looking up at the sky, feeling the sun beat down on your, and listening to the birds, or garbage trucks depending on where you live, and just taking a breath. It is by far one of my favorite pastimes.
If you have never done this, which come on I think it’s time, then go outside right now and see how it feels. Even just for 5 tiny little minutes. It will change you I swear.
Because it Just Looks Nice
Lets be honest with each other. One of the things you loved about your home when you chose it was the back yard/ patio. So why not make it something amazing? Think about tackling your backyard as you would your interior space. Consider the function that you want to use it for, and buy furniture accordingly. Be sure you are getting pieces that will last, and look really great together. At the end adding outdoor pillows, rugs, plants, and various accessories will be the final touch and make it truly unique.
