Today is Earth day, and I think there are some really interesting ways in which we can embrace this day. Planting a tree may not be an option for some of you, so maybe instead think about how we can stop taking the beauty of the outdoors for granted. With art we can see how an artist is able to create a whole new way to look at tree’s, flowers, or animals. Environmentally inspired art is something that many of us are not valuing enough.
With the help of Art Cricket LA, I have found 3 artists right here in Los Angeles that use elements of the earth as their muse. The pieces shown here are just a fraction of what each artist works on so please feel free to seek them out and view their gallery. They each have some truly amazing things.
Artist Miriam Dema has some incredibly fun pieces of art that celebrate the idea of earth day. She does her own screen printing that is both beautiful, and environmentally friendly. She has a clear love for California, and each piece is unique.
Melinda Tracy Boyce
Melinda Tracy Boyce has a stationary company called Cactus Club Paper. She uses intense colors, paired with her cartoon like style, to allow for her cactus and animal art to pop. Her stuff is just plain fun, and would look amazing in any part of your home. I would find it hard for you to not love each and every piece she has.
An artist that sees the value in everything the natural elements is Terry Arena. She is not only an artist whom paints the environment for sheer entertainment, she seeks to teach those who are unaware of the true crisis some living creatures are having to endure. It is through her art that she can spread the word on the environment, and our impact on it.
