A. Corner windows can be tricky. It’s one of those things that can be so difficult that we leave them covered up with anything. Just as long as you don’t have to think about it anymore. Don’t do that. Add something to your corner windows that make them look amazing, not hideous. I want your windows looking great people.
One Drapery Panel Per Window
When open they can be draped in the corner, or on the outside, and then pulled close. As you can see in the image above, it is very easy to use one large drapery panel and simply cover when necessary. It makes for a much simpler look, and tends to hide the fact that it is an awkward little corner of windows.
Having your windows draped this way would work with a contemporary or modern style. It is much simpler and will not draw all of your attention to this one spot.
Two per window can sometimes be a much heavier look. So this is not always best for smaller spaces or rooms with very few windows. It tends to block much more of your window and may hinder the amount of natural light you have coming through.
This would certainly work with a more traditional or ornate design style.
Shades are always a great solution. If you’re trying to figure out which shade works for you, look at Types of Roman Shades and be sure it works for the overall aesthetic of the room.
The bonus of using shades instead of heavy curtains is that they appear to take up very little space. Plus they make your windows much less noticeable overall. If this is what appeals to you most, I would consider this solution.
This can work with any design style you prefer. It all depends on the type of shade you choose to determine what the look will ultimately be.
I am fully aware of how many of you think this is totally nuts. For more on this subject I suggest you read ‘No Window Treatments for My Windows’ and I hope you will see the positive to this. Now the reason why it’s so great for the corner windows is because it accentuates how large these windows are. If they’re small, it makes them look even bigger. You’ve heard the expression ‘less is more’? Well, sometimes nothing can be more too.
