When you have guests arrive at your home, they come and stand at your front door. They ring the doorbell, and they wait. If it’s anything like my house, they wait for a while before they realize the doorbell doesn’t work and then begin knocking. All the while they’re looking down at their feet. Now, don’t you wish you had a nicer welcome mat?
I thought so.
I found just a few vintage welcome mats that I thought were worthy of adorning your front door.
Wel-cumulus Home Doormat, Mod Cloth – $34.99
It’s abnormal shape makes it pretty darn adorable for just about anybody.
Rainbow Rag Rug, Urban Outfitters – $24.00
You don’t have to have a typical welcome mat. I think having this colorful rug is a great alternative to the ordinary.
Bespoke Doormat from Burkedecor – $38.00
This is great for all of those cyclists out there. I know a few people who would want this for their own home.
Personalized Initial Doormat, Etsy $26.00
I love how simple this is. I think it’s a cute way of personalizing it, without being too much.
DIY Doormat – ‘A Beautiful Mess’ tutorial
There are a ton of DIY welcome mats. This one is actually a holiday mat, but I think it is a very easy and very inexpensive doormat.
Hand Woven Doormat, Anthropologie – $98.00
Home Scenic Home, Modcloth – $34.99
Those southwestern patterns are still pretty popular. I think this is fun and still easy to work with the colors of most homes exteriors.
Fox on a Bike, Dark Cycle Clothing – $25.00
This one is just weird enough that I think it would be a great welcome mat. Keep in mind it is a very light tone, and thin as well. It may not be great for an area where muddy shoes is a common occurrence.
